Developer Relations Lead Engineer

Your opportunity

We are looking for a results-oriented, experienced Developer Relations Lead Engineer to build the foundations of our Developer Relations function. You’ll own our Dev Rel strategy, turning our users into our biggest brand advocates by investing in content, community building & engagement.

Your responsibilities

  • Establish a multi-year strategy to win the hearts of our developers and grow our community. Create momentum and drive adoption of Tinybird through your interactions with developers building applications and businesses with Tinybird; 
  • Partner with the product team to to influence roadmap, and helping translate product performance and market feedback into product experiences that delight our customers and exceed expectations;
  • Create compelling content (blogs, guides, documentation, courses etc.) that breaks down the complex into the understandable while telling stories with code, equipping developers with knowledge of tools and techniques that makes them better at their craft;
  • Identify events for Tinybird to speak at or sponsor, and speak on our behalf at events to drive awareness and engagement;
  • ​​Create experiences which inspire developers to build amazing things that they then share with others - in order to drive brand awareness and trust;
  • Establish social media strategy with content and examples demonstrating how our product can be integrated with different technologies and used in various and interesting use-cases;
  • Track and understand multiple KPIs tracking our community growth and engagement.

What you bring to the team

  • Development experience. Ideally building data intensive products or infrastructure, around SQL, Data Analytics, Data Ops practices or Clickhouse. However it could also be around web development, streaming analytics or other;
  • Proven experience writing technical or developer-focused content - with a strong portfolio of material showcasing your work;
  • Good communication/presentation skills. You are comfortable speaking in front of a crowd and can keep it interesting;
  • Any type of experience in community organising, especially around code/tech;
  • Demonstrable participation in existing development communities, such as open-source projects or other;
  • Data-driven and able to institute reporting on dev rel performance; using performance metrics to optimise strategies;
  • Has the ability to juggle multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment, with a bias towards action and getting things done;
  • Has a growth mindset, is autonomous, is willing to take the responsibility, and is passionate about building something great.

  • Paid travel. Whenever this is needed and agreed between the two parties.

  1. A get to know each-other call (30min)
  2. A skills based interview (1hr)
  3. A final interview with one or two of the founders (1-1.5hr).
