Your opportunity 

We are beginning to scale up the go-to-market functions at Tinybird and are looking to hire our first US sales engineer to an existing team of high-performers. As part of our team you’ll be responsible for an assigned territory with massive potential. 

While your focus might be on helping customers and prospects succeed, if the things you learn while helping customers don’t end up driving our roadmap, then we are doing something wrong. If you are motivated by the impact you can have as an early team member then please read on! 

Your responsibilities

  • Own the solution exploration and evaluation steps (e.g. lead Demos, POCs, BVAs, etc.) of the customer’s buying process
  • Collaborate with Tinybird team members across technical and commercial functions to ensure we achieve our revenue growth goals and appropriately prioritize customer feedback in our product roadmap
  • Actively collaborate with our Product and Customer Success teams to ensure an outstanding experience for our customers and maximize our revenue growth
  • Help establish and adhere to operational best practices as required to ensure Tinybird can predictably scale the business to achieve its aggressive growth objectives
  • Take an active role in helping the sales department sustain a work culture of continuous learning and customer enablement

What you bring to the team

  • Demonstrated expertise with modern data technologies, especially in terms of realtime data, data infrastructure and analytics. Our customers are often working with technologies that include Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Snowflake, GCP BigQuery, and Clickhouse, so prior experience working with these technologies is highly preferred.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to pop open your code editor to develop quick prototypes that illustrate how things work and the best way to address customer needs. An important related skill is the ability to write efficient SQL. Some web development experience is also preferred, but not required.
  • Technical aptitude to build custom product demos for customers and lead POCs, especially for handling questions from developers and data engineers
  • Experience helping address customer needs by building technical guides and blog posts that are targeted at developers 
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; especially the ability to sell to developers and translate between technical and business stakeholders 
  • Track record of job stability and/or upward career progression

  • Competitive Package Based on your experience and market, you will receive competitive salary and target bonus, as well as valuable stock options
  • Unlimited PTO We will not count the days you take off, but we insist you take at least 22 days off per year. Plus, your birthday off and public holidays, but who’s counting. 
  • Work remotely. You have the freedom to work from wherever suits you best, so long as you can meet the obligations of your role. 
  • Equipment of your choice. You get to choose the equipment you need to do your best work ($2,750 budget).
