Your Opportunity

Come work at a growing, well-funded tech startup that’s making a big splash in tech. One customer called us the biggest thing in data since Snowflake. If you understand how cool that is, then you’re probably a good fit! You’ll get to be a part of a small but fun, disruptive, and fast Marketing team that’s pushing boundaries and taking risks. We’re looking for someone who understands developers, loves to communicate, and wants to work with technical teams to produce compelling content that developers want to read.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Tinybird Engineering and DevRel teams to craft compelling, expertly-written technical content.
  • Own content production projects, taking content pieces from start to finish with the support of the rest of the team.
  • Partner with other content creators - including external agencies and freelancers - to deliver super-high-quality content.
  • Help us expand output through our content channels by owning content channels, splintering existing content, and contributing your abilities across the content spectrum. 
  • Help us write copy for blog posts, webpages, emails, social posts, and anything else we produce that uses… you know… words.
  • Help us brainstorm and strategize disruptive, surprising new content ideas. If you think we should produce an island-themed game show, convince us and then help us make it happen!
  • Adhere and contribute to our brand principles, and make us look good in front of our friends (and competitors).

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Experience writing technical content, either as a marketer or as a developer. 
  • Programming experience, even if it’s just a hobby. You should be able to write a “hello world” (and then some) in at least 1 programming language, ideally multiple. Strong SQL skills are a big plus.
  • A GitHub account
  • Strong writing skills and a passion for storytelling. You don’t need to be Hemingway, but you need to know what good copy looks like and how to produce it.
  • Appreciation for empathy, authority, and tone of voice. When we write, we write to show people that we care about their problems and we know how to fix them. You get that.
  • Experience with the following specifics isn’t all required, but the more you have, the better (listed in order of importance):
  • Copywriting
  • Programming (SQL, Python, JavaScript, …)
  • Webcam/screen recording and editing
  • Public/on-camera speaking
  • Participation on developer social sites (e.g. StackOverflow, Reddit, etc.) 
  • Social media activity (Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok)
  • Project management
  • Video editing and production
  • Email marketing
  • Graphic design

  • We are a fully remote company, and not just because of COVID-19, we have worked like that for many years. All of our previous companies were remote-friendly companies.
  • We are just starting up so your work will impact everything we do. We also believe in full transparency, and you will always know what is going on.
  • No politics.

  • Work remotely. Freedom to work from wherever suits you best. For this role, we’re ideally looking for candidates in the United States and Western European time zones.
  • Flexible office hours. At Tinybird we do not have fixed office hours. You manage your own time.
  • Equipment of your choice. You get to choose. The maximum budget for it is $2,600. 
  • Paid travel. Whenever this is needed and agreed between the two parties.

The application phase consists of three separate interviews via video call. 

  1. A get-to-know-each-other call (30min)
  2. A skills-based interview (1hr)
  3. A final interview with one or two of the founders (1-1.5hr).
