APPEND vs REPLACE Mode

TL;DR

Tinybird provides two primary modes for writing data: append (incremental updates) and replace (complete replacement). Use append for continuous data ingestion and replace for snapshot-style updates. Both modes are available in Copy Pipes and the Data Sources API, with replace also supporting conditional replacement for specific partitions.

append and replace modes serve different use cases and have different implications for data consistency, performance, and storage.
